The 7th Annual White Cane Walk Fundraiser
The White Cane Walk will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012
10:00AM – 1:00PM.
The White Cane Walk is an annual fundraising event to help provide services for people in our community who are blind or visually impaired, as well as, to help increase public awareness of the White Cane Law designed to protect them. The entry fee is $20 dollars. White Cane Walkers will learn how to use a white cane and how to serve as a sighted guide. Each participant will have an opportunity to walk blindfolded through Legacy Village using a white cane with the assistance of a sighted guide partner. Additional hands-on activities; such items from our EYE-dea Shop (including desktop magnifiers and other assistive technologies) children’s games and services and other recreational activities will be available for anyone interested in learning how people who are blind or visually impaired perform everyday tasks. Children games and other recreational activities will also be available. This is a great learning opportunity for all ages.
