Deer-vehicle crashes on the rise

Deer-vehicle crashes continue to rise in Ohio. Since 2019, more than 109,000 deer crashes have happened in the state, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. About 47% of those crashes occurred in October, November, and December. The Ohio Division of Wildlife said Fall is mating season for deer, which makes them more active. They’re more likely to pop out during the early morning or evening commute, so it’s recommended to use your vehicle ‘s high beams when you can and be extra vigilant during those times.
