28 team playoff??

So college football went to a 12 team playoff last year, which ended in the Ohio State Buckeyes winning the National Championship.  The 12 team playoff was considered a success and not too long after it ended, discussion started on possibly expanding it to 16 teams after just 1 season.  Those talks stalled and this year will once again be the 12 team format.  But in the future they will expand three is no doubt.  But to 16 teams or more???  It has been floated around especially by the Big Ten that the playoff should expand to 24 or possibly 28 teams.  28 teams???  I love the new format but even for me this is a little much.  Why not go from 12 to 16 for a while and see how that goes before taking such a big leap.  Of course this is all about the dollar signs they see if they expand it further.  But how about take a deep breath gradually expand the playoff and go from there.  It’s a tad ridiculous to take that much of a jump so quickly.
