Drowning at Headlands Beach State Park

A person died after drowning while paddle boarding at Headlands Beach State Park, in Mentor.  The Ohio Department of Natural Resources says officers were called out around 5pm Sunday for a person in the water.  According to ODNR, officers rescued a person who had been paddle boarding outside of the swimming area.  The person was taken to the hospital, but unfortunately died.  The name has not been released.
