Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has signed an executive order banning the sale of “intoxicating hemp” products like Delta-8 and Delta-9, citing risks to children. The order takes effect Oct. 14, allowing authorities to seize products and fine retailers $500 a day for violations. DeWine says the unregulated hemp market bypasses Ohio’s marijuana laws meant for adults 21 and
older. Retailers warn the ban could hurt small businesses that rely on these sales.
