Cavs best shot????

By John Maczko Oct 17, 2025 | 8:02 AM

The NBA season is upon us and the Cavaliers are considered one of the favorites to come out of the Eastern Conference.  It looks like a battle between the Cavs, the Knicks, and possibly the Orlando Magic.  The Cavs played extremely well during the regular season, but for the second straight season had a flame out in the playoffs, well before they should have.  It’s even more wide open this year due to major injuries to the star player on both the Celtics and the Pacers.  The Cavs may never have a better shot than this.  Yes the Cavs will be missing Darius Garland and Max Strus for a while, but they should both be back with plenty of time to contribute to the team.  Evan Mobley also should make another leap toward becoming a star in this league.  The hope is that Donovan Mitchell can use his great play in the regular season and finally get it to translate into the post season too.  All the signs are there for a long playoff run this season in Cleveland for the Cavs.  They just have to prove that they can do it unlike previous seasons.  Optimism is there.  Now they have to go out and show everyone that the playoff choke isn’t going to happen again.
