An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper was struck and killed in a Mahoning County crash Thursday while assisting a disabled vehicle. Just before noon yesterday, 40 year old Trooper Nicolas Cayton was fatally struck by a truck on State Route 11. Cayton died at the scene. The driver Cayton was helping was also hit and flown to the hospital. No word on his condition. The driver of the truck that slammed into them was not injured. The crash is now under investigation.
