Travelers flying out of Cleveland Hopkins International Airport or Akron-Canton Airport may face delays or cancellations this weekend as the Federal Aviation Administration plans to cut up to 10% of flights at airports across the country. While the 2 airports are not directly on the FAA’s list, connecting flights through hubs such as Chicago, Atlanta, or New York, could be impacted for local passengers. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford said the reductions are necessary to address the fatigue among air traffic controllers who have worked without pay since the federal government shutdown began October 1st. The cuts are expected to affect roughly 3500 to 4500 flights daily.
