The Summit County Medical examiner and the Bath Township Police Department are investigating the homicide of 18 year old Elijah Wells from Akron. According to police, shortly after midnight Sunday, Wells was at the a home in the 900 block of Top-O-Hill Drive that was being rented out through Airbnb for a birthday party when multiple shots were fired and Wells was struck multiple times. Wells was one of 7 people shot and 2 others injured. He was transported to the hospital and died yesterday. Five other victims who were shot have been released from the hospital. Two remain hospitalized. Investigators are pursuing all leads and processing a significant amount of evidence from the scene. The incident is being called “complex” and the Bath Township Police Chief is asking anyone who attended the party or has information contact the BCI tip line at intel@ohioattorneygeneral.gov or 855-224-6446. so far there have been no arrests.
