Dog attack sends 2 kids to hospital

Barberton police are investigating a dog attack that sent 2 children to the hospital.  The incident occurred last Thursday afternoon around 3:45pm near the intersection of Tennessee Place and Iowa Place.  Police say a 9 month old pit bull charged the 2 kids playing outside.  One was bitten in the leg, the other sustained bites to both hands.  Both were transported to the hospital.  a neighbor who rushed to help was also bitten on the finger, but treated at the scene.  According to the report, another woman intervened and used her taser on the dog.  the owner of the dog told police that her son was letting the dog out on his leash when the dog ran past him to get outside.
