Akron police are investigating the brutal homicide of a 44 year old woman. The Summit County Medical Examiners office says first responders were called out around 2:10am Saturday for shots fired in the 500 block of Miles Avenue. They arrived to find Rebecca Lee Guthrie dead on the living room floor. According to the medical examiner, the Akron woman had been stabbed multiple times and shot.
