Akron Mayor Shammas Malik is bringing legislation to Akron City Council to fund new contracts with the Akron Firefighters Union (Local 330) and the Civil Service Personnel Associations Union (CSPA). As part of the agreements with these unions, Akron Fire and CSPA members would receive the same wage increases as Akron Police: 55 increase in 2025, 4.5% increase in 2026, and 4.5% in 2027. Similiarily, both Akron Fire and CSPA will also have modest changes to health insurance beginning in 2026 which will slightly increase the employee contribution and bring them in alignment with other City employees.
