The Akron fire Department responded to two separate fires recently in which all residents managed to escape the flames, however several dogs perished in the fires. The cause of the fire on Davies Avenue in East Akron that left 4 dogs dead is under investigation. Yesterday, firefighters arrived on scene around noon and found heavy smoke in the area and a fire in the kitchen at the back of the home. All the residents made it out safely.
Then around 5:30 last night, firefighters were called to a home on North Rose Blvd, near west Market Street. In a press release, the fire department said there was heavy fire in the back of the multi-unit home. Four people were displaced. 1 dog was found deceased. The cause and origin of both fires are under investigation and the Red Cross was notified about both fires.
