Akron’s new chief of public safety

For the first time in his administration, Akron Mayor Shammas Malik will soon have a chief of public safety.  The mayor remains focused on revising the city’s use of force policy, working on curbing gun violence as he continues to call public safety a top priority in his administration.  starting January 20th, Craig Morgan will be appointed as Chief of Public Safety.  He has been Akron’s city prosecutor and the police department’s legal adviser.
