Elderly man killed in fire

An investigation is underway after a house fire claimed the life of an elderly man.  The fire broke out just before 1pm at a home on South Johnson Avenue in Tuscarawas County.  Fire crews responded quickly and removed a 73 year old man, who was the only one in the house at the time of the fire, according to the Dover Fire Department.  The man was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.  his name has not been released.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
