Fiscal Officer warns of fraudulent website

Fiscal Officer Kristen Scalise is warning residents of a fraudulent website that is falsely representing itself as an official website of the Summit County Fiscal Office.  The website falsely identifies itself as the “Summit County Auditor.”  Summit County does not have a standalone county Auditor’s Office or a designated Auditor website.  The fake site is designed to resemble a legitimate county website and may mislead residents into believing they are accessing official county information or services.  Officials are concerned residents could accidentally put sensitive, personal information on the fake website, which could lead to identity theft.
