A man and a woman were sentenced Friday to 8 to 12 years in prison for allowing a 3 year old boy to starve to death while in the care in Canton. Jamie Thompson and Demetres Givens pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and endangering children. The judge noted that the couple ignored medical advice and their duty to care for the child, who had a complex medical history.
