Ohio woman’s fraud scheme

By John Maczko Mar 6, 2026 | 7:37 AM

An Ohio woman has been ordered to pay $266,000 for scamming Ohio Home Depot stores.  Medina Township Police say Tracy James did fraudulent returns at stores throughout Ohio, including Wadsworth, Medina, Brunswick, as well as stores in Kentucky.  She then used store credits to make purchases.  Then resold those items online.  James pleaded guilty to telecommunications fraud last month.  On top of restitution, James was also given 180 days in jail.
