The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) announced Tuesday that it is kicking off a record breaking $3.4 billion construction season statewide. According to a media release, the 2026 construction season includes a total of 977 new projects. One of these projects, in Summit County, is the State Route 8 hi-level bridge replacement. The $157.6 million project also includes minor realignment of State Route 8 and the addition of a new auxiliary lane in each direction on Route 8 between Glenwood Avenue and Perkins Street. Estimated completion is set for summer of 2028.
