Akron based GOJO Industries is no more. The maker of Purell hand sanitizer, was acquired by the Clorox Company of Oakland, California. GOJO is being rebranded as Clorox Purell, the companies announced alongside the acquisition April 1. The business will remained headquartered at GOJO Plaza in downtown Akron and facilities in Cuyahoga Falls, Wooster, and Ashland. GOJO was founded in 1946 by Goldie and Jerry Lippman.
