Akron Children’s Hospital receives major gift

Akron Children’s Hospital has received a huge gift, a $50 million donation, the largest in their history, from philanthropist, entrepreneur, and child health advocate Tom Golisano.  Akron Children’s Hospital says the funds will be used for a number of things, including expanding congenital heart and cancer care for kids, teenagers, and young adults, improving access to behavioral health services throughout the continuum of care, launching innovative programs that enhance patient engagement, and nursing excellence.  Golisano is the founder of Paychex, Inc., which is the nation’s largest human resource company for small to medium-sized businesses.
