Rootstown Local School District will close its middle school within 4 year, according to Superintendent Andrew Hawkins. Under the plan, 6th graders will attend Rootstown Elementary when the building closes. 7th and 8th graders will be moved to Rootstown High School. The district’s Board of Education voted earlier this week to transition students out of the building no later than the 2029-2030 school year, as part of a long term facilities plan.
