Tracking Ohio students

By John Maczko Apr 28, 2026 | 7:31 AM

Ohio launched the first of its kind in the nation, statewide public dashboard to track student attendance.  It will be updated weekly so chronic absenteeism trends can be viewed across the state,, and even down to the district, school building, or grade levels.  Ohio Governor Mike DeWine said, the Statewide Attendance Dashboard, was created to provide an unprecedented level of speed and transparency in tracking student attendance across the state.  Governor DeWine says that more than 255 of Ohio students were chronically absent last year.  DeWine also said the new dashboard will help schools, families, and local leaders identify attendance challenges earlier and support proactive strategies to ensure more students are present and learning.
