A 40-year-old man was killed and a 36-year-old woman wounded when shots were fired at a vehicle in the South Akron neighborhood. Rysean Carter of Akron was pronounced dead Friday at the scene of the shooting near the intersection of Marcy Street and Cole Avenue, according to police. The woman was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive. Officers were called to the South Akron area at about 7:20 p.m., police say. Carter was found inside a Jeep with multiple gunshot wounds. The woman was found nearby with a gunshot wound to the hip. No arrests have been made and police have not said whether they have any suspects.
