School days are fast approaching, as well as Ohio sales tax free holiday. This year the tax holiday runs from August 7th through the 9th allowing shoppers to purchase qualifying school supplies, instructional materials and clothing without paying sales or local state tax. According to the Ohio Department of Taxation, clothing priced at $75 or less qualifies for the exemption. Schools supplies and instructional materials priced at $20 or less are also exempt during the 3 day holiday. The exemption also applies to qualifying online purchases.
