Barberton officer injured by fleeing vehicle

A Barberton police officer suffered minor injuries Friday afternoon after being struck by a suspect vehicle that fled the scene near Barberton Middle School.  The officer sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.  Police say the suspect vehicle struck the officer in front of Barberton middle School before fleeing the scene.  Police determined the suspect vehicle had been leaving the scene of a domestic dispute where the suspect allegedly brandished a weapon.  No one was injured during the domestic dispute.  According to a release, the incidents are still being investigated and no further information is being released at this time.
