By John Maczko Sep 7, 2026 | 7:24 AM

Sunday at the Canfield Fair, an armed man was arrested after lunging at Ohio Gubernatorial Candidate Dr. Amy Acton during a campaign appearance.  According to a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 38 year old Patrick Havas of Canfield was in a crowd at the Mahoning County Democratic Party’s tent.  He pulled out a phone as if to record Acton during her speech and then pushed through the crowd, where at least 2 older adults were knocked down.  He was quickly detained by the OSHP’s executive protection unit, where law enforcement found 2 pistols and a taser in his possession.  Havas was taken to Mahoning County Jail where he was booked with 2 charges of disorderly conduct and 2 counts of assault.  dr. Acton, who is running against Vivek Ramaswamy for Governor, was unharmed.  no motive for the attack is known at this time.
