The Whimsical Whiskers cat sanctuary in Lake Twp is asking for residents help in locating 6 cats who went missing. Back on the evening of October 7, the cat rescue had 20 cats make their way out of the building through an open window. The sanctuary has found all but 6 of the cats who went missing.
Workers and volunteers have been setting traps and handing out flyers in an effort to locate the missing felines.
Shelter staff say it is important not to chase the cats or intimidate them in any way, because they will just continue to run.
The shelter takes in cats whose owners have died or gone to end of life care. Some of the cats have been dumped and many of those are the ones that went through the window. Anyone who thinks they may have found a cat can call the 330 388 4090 or take the cat to the Humane Society where it will be picked up.
