The Cuyahoga County Grand Jury has indicted the man accused in a deadly shooting in the parking lot of a Mayfield Heights Restaurant.
24 year old Dae-juan Moton has been indicted on 2 counts of murder and 4 counts of felonious assault. Police say Moton allegedly killed 45 year old Al Rice outside a restaurant in the 6000 block of Mayfield road on October 2.
County prosecutor Mike O’Malley states Rice walked into the restaurant and met friends with whom he had a verbal exchange. Afterwards, Rice and Moton left the restaurant and walked to their vehicles. Rice walked toward Moton’s vehicle and Moton allegedly shot him several times.
Officers arrived on the scene and found Rice in the parking lot. He was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
Moton will be arraigned on October 23.
