Well the Cavaliers are expected to be one of the favorites in the Eastern Conference this year along with the New York Knicks. With the Indiana Pacers and the Boston Celtics having star players out an entire year due to injury, the Cavs and Knicks have risen to the top in the East. They start out with a tough game to begin the season at Madison Square Garden against the Knicks. But even worse, they will more than likely be missing two key players right from the start. One of the core four, guard Darius Garland is still recovering from a toe injury and may not be there at the start of the season. Then the news came out that Cavs small forward Max Strus got hurt in the offseason and had to have foot surgery, which will keep him out for 3 to 4 months. So not good news at the beginning for the Cavs. Looks like Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley are going to have to carry a bigger load to start and hope the Cavaliers don’t dig themselves a big hole before they get back to full strength.
