The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating 2 deadly crashes that happened on the Ohio Turnpike in Erie County. The 1st happened just after 6:30 yesterday morning. a box truck driven by an Indiana man went off the roadway and struck a tow truck parked on the shoulder. Troopers say a passenger in the box truck was killed. The 2nd crash happened about an hour later east of Frailey road overpass in the traffic backup from the first crash. According to a release, a vehicle slammed into a tractor-trailer. Both the driver and the passenger of the Toyota were pronounced dead at the scene. The turnpike in that area was closed for 3 hours while the scenes were both cleared.
