25 year old Jakob White. pled guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide and vehicular assault in connection with a fatal crash that occurred in Rootstown Township. The charges stem from a collision that occurred on May 1st, 2024, on Rootstown Road, just east of Sandy Lake Road. On that date, White approached a hill in the roadway at approximately 65 mph, the vehicle became airborne after cresting the hill, traveled off the side of the road, and then overcorrected, crossing the double yellow center line, causing an accident. White’s passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle suffered serious injuries. A pre-sentence investigation has been ordered, and sentencing will be scheduled at a later date.
