There is going to be a Major League Baseball season this year. But as for next season, I’m guessing not a chance. There is a good possibility of a lockout and also a possibility that there may not be a season at all next year. Some financial things in this league need to be fixed as it has gotten out of control. The Dodgers, winners of the last 2 World Series , just spend and spend and spend. 5 or 6 times as much as what a team like the Guardians does. Time for a salary cap. But also time for a salary floor which forces all teams to spend a certain amount of money. The disparity from the top spending teams to the bottom gets more ridiculous every year. The players want no cap but the owners do. It could be a long dragged out battle. But one that is needed. You may not like it as a baseball fan, but it needs to be done, even if an entire season is lost. Fix it before it destroys the game.
