Fatal fire

One man was killed in a Sunday evening fire that damaged a home, a building, and displaced 10 residents.  The Canton Fire Department responded around 9:30pm to a house fire in the 1000 block of 5th Street SW.  It took firefighters over an hour to get the flames under control.  According to firefighters, the victim was found dead on the first floor of the home.  His name has not yet been released.  A neighboring building sustained significant fire damage and has been deemed uninhabitable.  As a result, 10 occupants were displaced and being assisted by the Red Cross.  The Cause of the fire is under investigation.
