Akron man sentenced for rape, kidnapping

A 24 year old Akron man was sentenced to 20 to 25 years in prison for kidnapping and raping a woman who worked at Red Roof Inn in Springfield Township.  Cornelius Rogers pleaded guilty to 1 count each of kidnapping and rape.  The incident occurred in December 2024 after he forced his way into a room with the housekeeper and physically assaulted and raped her.  Camera footage from a Walmart security camera across the street captured the attack.
