The Ohio State highway Patrol is investigating a motorcycle crash that left a New Philadelphia man dead. According to a news release, 63 year old Jack Linberry was riding a Harley-Davidson southbound on State Route 800 near Froman Hill in Fairfield Township just after 5pm when his bike swerved left of center to avoid a vehicle that had slowed down to turn right onto Froman Hill Road. The motorcycle and the rider slid off the roadway and striking a guardrail. Linberry was life-flighted to the hospital where he died of his injuries. Troopers say alcohol and drugs are factors in the crash, and Linberry was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
