A Kent mother is facing criminal charges after police saw her 8 year old child brought a loaded gun to Longcoy Elementary School on Thursday. According to a press release, a classmate noticed the firearm tucked inside the student’s waistband during recess and told a teacher. Around 12:30 Thursday afternoon members located the student’s backpack and found the loaded 9mm handgun inside and confiscate the weapon. The child’s mother was arrested and charged with endangering children. The incident remains under investigation.
