A Hartville man who crashed into a pole while driving drunk, killing an 18-year-old woman in the passenger seat, pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and other charges. In addition to the vehicular homicide charge, 23 year old George Taylor, also plead guilty to 2 alcohol related driving charges. He is scheduled to be sentenced June 8. The single-vehicle crash occurred in May 2025 on Massillon Road in Springfield Township. Taylor was driving a Volkswagen sedan when it hit a telephone pole, splitting the car in half. 18 year old Isabelle Grubaugh was found dead inside the vehicle, according to prosecutors. Taylor failed numerous field sobriety tests and a breathalyzer test that showed he was over 3 times the legal limit. Police searched the vehicle and found an empty jar of moonshine and two additional open containers of alcohol.
