The Ohio Casino Control Commission and Akron Police Department worked together to serve search warrants on two businesses as part of an illegal gambling investigation May 6. The investigation began after receiving complaints that the businesses were operating gaming machines in violation of Ohio law. The businesses were located at 141 E. York Street and 1283 E. Tallmadge Ave, both in Akron. Approximately 27 suspected illegal slot machines were disabled or seized, along with an undisclosed amount of money. The investigation is ongoing.
