A small plane crashed Thursday afternoon into an Akron home, killing two people and sparking a fire. Akron Police Lt. Michael Murphy said the deceased were occupants of the plane. The plane took off from Akron Fulton Airport at 2:03 p.m. Firefighters were called around 3:45 p.m. to Canterbury Circle for reports of an aircraft crashed into a home. According to a news release, firefighters evacuated two homes as a precaution, and no additional injuries were reported. The victims were found dead inside the plane. Their names have not been released. The Federal Aviation Administration, Ohio State Patrol and the Akron Fire Department responded to the scene. The Akron Fire Department will handle the investigation.
