A Portage County man has been sentenced to life in prison, following his recent guilty plea for aggravated murder of his younger brother. Nathan McAtee will be eligible for parole in 11 years. Prosecutors say that back in April of 2022, McAtee used a 16″ blade Samurai Sword to fatally stab his 11 year old brother 6 times at the family home. He then notified his mother and her boyfriend, present upstairs in the home, that he killed his brother and told the officer the same thing when he arrived on scene. McAtee went through multiple evaluations and was found to be sane and competent.
