An Ohio Auditor of State news release reports that more than $1.2 million in improper Medicaid payments were made to a Summit County behavioral health agency. Auditor of State Keith Faber made the announcement on Tuesday that improper payments were made to the New Destiny Treatment center in the village of Clinton. It was paid $11.5 million between January 1st 2021 and December 31st 2023. There was missing documentation during this period related to substance abuse disorder and mental health supporting reimbursements and times when treatment plans and services did not match up. According to the release, the auditor of state’s office recommend about $1.4 million in repayment with interest after a compliance audit.
