If Linus, Sally and Charlie Brown want to wait for the Great Pumpkin this year, they will have to come to East Canton. Adam Momirov has set the state record earlier this month for growing the large orange gourd weighing over 2500 pounds.
Momirov says the pumpkin became a roadside attraction of its own and people would slow down and stop to take a look.
To move the pumpkin to be weighed was a collaborative effort. A team used ropes, straps and an excavator to carefully load and move it.
All good things must come to an end though and the pumpkin has since been cut up to feed deer and Momirov plans to grow more great pumpkins in the future!
