Excessive Heat May Impact Friday Night Football Schedules

The first week of high school football starts tomorrow (Friday) night and the heat could play a factor.

At least one school, Missouri Military Academy, has pushed the start time for their first game of the season back to 8:00 as they host Russellville.

According to Missouri State High School Activities Association representatives, there are protocols in place for the first three weeks of football season for mandatory water breaks and if the wet bulb globe thermometer reading reaches 87 degrees, games need to be delayed, rescheduled, or canceled.
