Five Mexico High School players are in Florida, taking part in the Palm Beach Classic.

It is a 100 team wooden bat tournament.

Daeye Miller, Andrew Runge, Josh Forbis, Tyler Thoenen and Brock Smythe are on the Jefferson City-based Central Missouri Phenom, a summer travel team.

This (Thursday) morning the Phenom put up a 3-2 win over CBU, a team from south Florida.

The Palm Beach Classic attracts a total of some 200 teams in different age brackets.

It started on June 8th and runs through Sunday, with each team guaranteed four games.
