U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials are warning boaters of both floating and submerged debris caused by high water levels at Mark Twain Lake.
Normal elevation is 606 feet above sea level, but by July 4th the level is expected to be 628.2 feet.
The high water has prompted a number of temporary closings, including:
John F. Spalding Recreation Area beach, shower house and restrooms;
John Spalding Ramp restroom and fish cleaning station (high water ramp will open);
Indian Creek Beach & Ramp restroom;
Joanna Trail;
Lick Creek Trail;
Hunter-Fisherman Accesses 11, 20, 61, 30, 33, and 12; and
Mark Twain State Park Beach, Rt. U ramp & Hwy 107 ramp.
