James Addie Sentencing

A Monroe County man convicted of a 2018 murder of his secret fiancee will be sentenced this (Monday) morning in Jefferson City.

The jury deliberated for more than 2 hours on April 29th before returning guilty verdicts against 54 year old James Addie.

He was convicted of first degree murder and armed criminal action for the 2018 death of Molly Watson, his fiancee.

The state is not seeking the death penalty.

And Cole County Judge Jon Beetem will sentence him to life in prison, without parole.

Today’s sentencing hearing will start at 10am, however it is unclear if Addie will take the witness stand.
