Jury Finds Derek Chauvin Guilty Of Killing George Floyd

The jury has reached a verdict in the case of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis Police officer accused of killing George Floyd.

The 12 members include 6 white people and 6 black or multiracial people who deliberated for about 10 hours over 2 days.

The jury found Chauvin guilty on all 3 counts, 2nd degree murder, 3rd degree murder, and 2nd degree manslaughter.

Chauvin’s bail was revoked and he was remanded to the custody of the Hennepin County Sheriff.

Sentencing will take place in 8 weeks, according to Judge Cahill.

Local law enforcement officials KXEO News spoke with are not anticipating any issues now that the verdict is known.
