The Mexico Girls Tennis Team is bringing home a first place finish after competing in the Osage Tournament on Saturday.

In singles competition Shelby Kennemore took 2nd place, and Katie Gooch finished in 3rd place.

Mexico’s Jocelyn Garcia and Estrella Lopez took 2nd place.

And Lily Yager and Winona Whelan had a 5th place finish.

Next up the Mexico Tennis girls go Fulton tonight (Monday).

The Community R6 Lady Trojans Softball Team notched a 2nd place finish this weekend in the Cairo tournament.

The Lady Trojans had a walk off against New Bloomfield in a 14-13 victory in the first game.

The second game was a 13-10 win against North Callaway.

And then a 6-5 loss to a good Moberly team.

The Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Baltimore Ravens 36-35 on the road last (Sunday) night.

The Chiefs held a 35-24 lead to start the 4th quarter, when Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson ran for 2 touchdowns, including a flip into the end zone for the winning, 1 yard score. Patrick Mahomes completed 24-31 passes for 343 yards and 3 touchdowns in the loss.

The Chiefs return home to arrowhead on Sunday when they host the Los Angeles Chargers.

The St. Louis Cardinals pushed their winning streak to 8 and swept the San Diego Padres with an 8-7 victory yesterday (Sunday) at Busch.

The Cardinals broke out with a 5-run first inning.

St. Louis is now 3 games ahead Reds for the 2nd Wild Card spot and have won 10 of their last 11 games.

The Kansas City Royals fell 7-1 to the Seattle Mariners at the K.

It was the Royals second straight series defeat as a six-game homestand came to an end.
