Mexico Bulldogs Football Team Looks Strong In Season Opening Win At Centralia

The Mexico Bulldogs Football Team came out looking strong in the season opener defeating the Centralia Panthers on the road 49-20.

Mexico won the coin toss and deferred until the second half.

The Bulldogs defense held Centralia on the opening drive to a three and out.

Then Mexico’s offense took 3 minutes and 30 seconds to score the first touchdown of the season on a 62 yard drive finished off by a Michael White touchdown and it was 7-0.

The Bulldogs defense then took center stage.

Connor Johnson knocked the ball out of Panthers quarterback Beau Gordon and Kendyr Taylor recovered for Mexico.

The Bulldogs took advantage of excellent field position capped off by an Andrew Runge rushing touchdown, and it was quickly 14-0 Dawgs.

The Bulldogs defense held the Panthers to another 3 and out and on the punt return Michael White galloped down the field for over 60 yards.

This setup Andrew Runge’s second touchdown run of the night and Mexico led 20-0.

Centralia would get on the board with a 24 yard touchdown pass from Beau Gordon.

Mexico would score one more time before halftime on a kickoff return from Anthony Shivers and this is your Webber Pharmacy/Jackson Street Drug play of the game.

Michael White would score the Bulldogs first touchdown of the second half.

He also added an interception to his defensive stats.

Mexico will play their home opener against the Southern Boone Eagles this Friday and will look to improve to 2-0.
